Love you lots, Dad

photo“Love you lots”, is a phrase many sons long to hear from their earthly fathers. To know your father loves and supports you no matter what is a true gift. Three years ago Rev. Dr. Eldon Babcock began sending his eldest son a word of encouragement. His son, a grown man with a high-powered career and a wonderful family confessed his need for daily spiritual encouragement.  So, each day his son received a “word of the day” which ended with LULD (Love you Lots, DAD).

When Pastor Babcock’s other children discovered what he was doing they asked to be included. Before long cousins, uncles and friends asked to be emailed the word of the day.  Since then over 800 words have encouraged us. Though always directly addressed to our eldest brother, we all read and are encouraged by our Father’s word of the day. The Lord has begun a good work through this simple act of service. May you also be strengthened as you read the word for today and may you know that you have a heavenly father who looks down on you and says, “I love you lots!

  1. Hey, I remember Rev. Eldon Babcock from Winnipeg. I was a 13 year old brattling and he took me with his family to Arlington Beach Bible Camp. I never forgot him. That was the summer of 1968. The last time I saw him was the fall of 1969. I’ve thought about him many times over the last 46 years.
